How I View and Solve Physics Problems

Hey class. Due to my technological limits, you have to click the individual pictures to view them in the normal size.

Well I hope this solves some of your problems. I left out some details. Please fill in the steps I left out!

  1. My initial reaction was to list out the "knowns" and "unknowns". That way it would be easier to determine which equation works best for the variables I have.

  2. When I first read this problem, my initial reaction was to skip it because I couldn't figure out how to draw it. Sketches of the problems usually help me the most. I did what Alissa Gilmer did with the rest of the test which was to list knowns, unknowns, and equations needed.

  3. Keys to solving every problem^^/// List your knowns, unknowns, equations, and draw a pic. With that, your chances of solving the problem increase greatly!

  4. Listing the knowns and unknowns at the beginning of the problem allows me to understand what I'm looking for and what equations I can use to find those unknowns. Then I can rearrange the equation that allows me to find what I want. I have difficulties drawing a picture though for some reason!

  5. This class has really given me a different view on problem solving.

  6. The key to being successful in this class has been organizing the problem. The way we were required to list knowns, unknowns, formulas and draw pictures helped to solve the problems.

  7. Listing the knowns and unknowns helps solve the problems but also drawing a visual helps.
